River House is a fully remodeled late-century bungalow on the Otonabee River. The goal for this award winning rebuild was to create an easy-to-maintain retirement home with a spacious feel and the look of a rustic modern cottage.
Key to achieving this goal was the removal of one of the three main floor bedrooms which allowed for a larger primary bedroom, while removing kitchen and dining room walls and vaulting the ceilings made for a modern and spacious great room.
Traditional blue board and batten siding blended seamlessly with glass deck railings round out the rustic modern aesthetic.
Hawthorn Creek Building Co. is honoured to win “Best Renovation Over $200,001″ from Peterborough and Kawarthas Home Builders Association for this project.
